DAWSON FALL 2007 COLLEGE VISITS SCHEDULE

Is it just about discovering colleges? Or is it also about discovering yourself?

College counseling at Dawson focuses on both sides of the process. We'll make sure you have plenty of opportunities to learn about colleges: by meeting with college representatives who come to campus from all over the country to meet with students, checking out resources in the college counseling library, and taking advantage of all the information now available on Dawson's college counseling Internet center.

You'll learn about yourself as you consider what you are seeking at college, what your academic interests and goals are, and what type of student life you'd like to be part of. Putting together resumes of your activities, taking achievement and aptitude tests, working on personal essays - all of these help you focus on who you are and what you can do.

Your college counselor will work closely with you to find the best college matches, will write letters of recommendation on your behalf, and will help you through the application and enrollment process.

As has been the case in each of the past several years, the Dawson senior class earns over $2 million in Academic and Merit Scholarships from colleges, universities, and public and private foundations!

Although the Dawson School does not wish to validate and, in fact, often questions the merit of US News and World Report college rankings, it is notable that of these 97 colleges, 42 are ranked in the top tier of national colleges or universities, an additional 11 are in the top tier of engineering or business programs and an additional two are in the top tier of regional (no PhD programs) universities.
