The Dawson Middle School, grades 5-8, is a truly unique educational experience. While providing rigorous academics that prepare students for the high quality college prep program at the Upper School, the Middle School addresses the social, emotional, and physical developmental issues that are hallmarks of the Middle School years. We provide an energetic, vibrant, and trusting community whose members foster a learning environment that enables individuals to take the risks necessary for continual learning, growth, and development in these areas. Students will find a gifted faculty who support them and each another with fervor and enthusiasm.
Most importantly, students enjoy their years at the Dawson Middle School and frequently form deep and long lasting relationships with their peers and the faculty.
Fifth and sixth grades have a homeroom system and the seventh and eighth grades provide an advisory system for students to achieve both academic and social growth. Students participate in competitive sports, a full array of arts and music classes. They also take part in a Character Education project that encompasses life long learning in verbal and non verbal communication, ethical and moral decision making, conflict resolution, team building and global consciousness.
