The Dawson Annual Fund is money raised for Dawson’s current year operating expenses. Our school is a not-for-profit organization and tuition is set below the actual cost of educating each child, a gap of over $2000 per student this year. Annual gifts supply critical resources needed to bridge this gap and maintain the best possible programs for every student on our campus.
The Dawson Annual Fund touches upon all facets of each student’s Dawson experience and has a direct and daily impact on our school. Each year gifts are posted to the general fund and support the entire school budget in many ways including:
- Faculty salaries and ongoing professional development
- Academic programs and equipment
- Student financial aid
- Visual and performing arts
- Athletics programs, coaches and equipment
- Maintenance and improvement of campus facilities
Participation
In addition to raising monies to cover the gap between tuition and the real cost of a Dawson education, our goal is 100% participation by all families, alumni, faculty & staff, and friends. Participation is the percentage of parents, faculty and staff, alumni, grandparents, and friends who donate a gift of any size to the Dawson Annual Fund.
The Dawson Annual Fund succeeds as a shared effort by our entire community. Every gift makes a tangible difference. Even a small increase in the percent of participation or the size of an average gift can have a big impact on the Dawson Annual Fund’s success. Annual Fund participation also inspires major donors give more generously since strong participation demonstrates confidence in our mission and is resounding evidence of our community’s commitment to our future success.

Designated & Undesignated Giving
Designated gifts fund specific items or purposes. Undesignated gifts help Dawson the most because the school, with the wisdom of its leadership, may place the money where it will serve the best purpose for the over all strength of the school. Dawson requests undesignated annual gifts in order to allow our school the discretionary ability throughout the year to remain flexible in meeting our most pressing needs and to seize new opportunities that arise throughout the year that further our mission and enhance our students’ education experience.
If you have an interest in offering a designated gift outside of the Dawson Annual Fund, please contact Ann Kasunich, Director of Development.
Workplace Giving Campaigns
If your workplace participates in a giving campaign, such as a United Way Campaign, contact the development office for information on how to direct your gift to Dawson.
