Woodworking Camp

Come spend an intensive week in the Dawson woodshop. The emphasis of this camp is on design, the study of materials and processes and the safe use of tools and machines. The production of a curved top hardwood trunk will introduce campers to the skills of joinery, project planning, finishing, building and design. Repeat campers will build a Shaker-style night table.

The camp will employ a wide array of instructional techniques including: lecture, demonstrations, one-on-one instruction, group and individual discussion and primarily hands-on experiential learning. The student project is the centerpiece of the camp.
