Climate and Culture

At Dawson we have always valued our ability to know, appreciate, and nurture our students’ gifts and uniqueness as they grow academically, emotionally, and socially. We collaborate to provide opportunities to know each other’s stories and celebrate each other’s differences. By engaging in
character education, we seek to infuse equity and inclusivity in all facets of daily life. We do this
through our core virtues of respect, integrity, courage, and compassion.  When students are truly known and loved, they are able to reach goals they may have never considered.  Character development, coupled with a Dawson education cultivates students’ skills in communication, empathy, and respectful collaboration.

Equity and Inclusion Group

The Equity and Inclusion Group facilitates programs to offer support for faculty/staff, parents, and students to build skills, support one another, and have open dialogue around how to continually improve the culture and climate at Dawson.  We are committed to creating and sustaining multiple avenues to advance this work.

Dawson is committed to enhancing diversity and inclusivity within the community by creating an environment of appreciation and respect for the uniqueness of every member of our school.  The mission of this committee is to create and facilitate school-based programs and support students and their families from all divisions.
