Curriculum by Subject

The Dawson Middle School provides a rich curriculum that empowers students to explore their interests in a variety of venues.  The fifth and sixth grades are viewed as a transition between Lower and Middle School.  The classes are homeroom-based with two (fifth) or three (sixth) core teachers.  Beginning in seventh grade, students have a more departmentalized schedule, anchored by an advisory system, allowing students to connect with multiple faculty members each day.  Classes are often inquiry-based, encouraging students to delve into the material and ask pertinent questions that help them form connections across the curriculum and with their own lives.
