Eclipse Over Texas

Working our way south through Colorado, we crossed over the mountains south of Pueblo to enter the beautiful San Luis Valley with wind-swept grasslands and fields on one side and snow-capped peaks on the other. We made periodic pit stops to stretch our legs and take in the amazing scenery around us (and take a break from Driver Ed questions (thank you, Asher) and attempts at karaoke and sing-alongs (a little rough, but we have all week to work on it!).

 

The spectacular Rio Grande Gorge bridge outside of Taos gave some of the students a “gulp” as we stared down into the river and rapids far, far below (never mind the bridge bouncing a bit as the large trucks traveled over it).

 

After pool time, a great Mexican meal was enjoyed on the Santa Fe square to wrap up the day. A full day is ahead with an early wake-up call—we got this!
