Boston

Day 1
Today, we first visited Suffolk University in the heart of downtown Boston. It’s a lovely urban location, with a spectacular view from the top story of the main dorm building. We were impressed with how connected the campus is with local businesses and the community that are central to the Suffolk experience. The professors were also impressive and shared with us that they are all active in their disciplines, in addition to the classes that they teach.

In the afternoon, we had a tour and information session at Northeastern University, a much bigger and wider-ranging system of campuses that includes Boston, of course, Oakland, London, and many international settings that are determined each year. The Boston campus was very cool, situated right on the green line of the "T", Boston's public transportation system. The campus has incredible architecture, including a building dedicated to innovation and technology completed last year!  We also traveled by the metro system in Boston to multiple locations including the Celtics versus Pistons game at TD Garden. The Celtics blew away the Pistons, and our section did an excellent job of getting the entire stadium to do the wave. We had a beautiful walk back through neighborhoods and Boston Common. Everyone is a little worn out but ending the day happy.

Tomorrow, we head out to see Boston University and Boston College with pizza and bowling in the evening.  We have a few Dawson alumni with whom we hope to connect with and hear first-hand their experiences and insights.
