Sailing the Sound

We woke up to cloudier conditions, but fortunately, there was no rain! Breakfast was a yummy frittata, which we all enjoyed. After breakfast, we completed our usual chores. Then, we all worked together to raise the sails and we were off, heading South down the Sound! We spent the rest of the morning learning new sea shanties, taking turns steering the ship, and learning navigation techniques. In the afternoon, we got to learn a little bit about the engineer’s job aboard the schooner and some of us got to help our chef, George, cook dinner! We also had some downtime that we spent playing games, reading, and chatting. We dined on a fabulous tortilla soup and homemade bread— the perfect meal to warm us up after a chilly day We look forward to our last full day aboard the Adventuress tomorrow.
