Planned Giving

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE RETIRED
to name Dawson as a beneficiary

WHY Alex Gury (‘97) participates:

1 Dawson helped him, and he wants to pay it forward.

2 It doesn’t cost him anything.

3 He can include Dawson in his plans as his plans grow.

4 It is t ax free. Yes, that’s right – tax free.

If you no longer need a life insurance policy to provide for a child’s education or to support a spouse, consider this:

You can leave a lasting legacy by simply designating the Dawson School as a beneficiary of the proceeds. Or, you can donate the policy itself and receive an income-tax deduction this year.

Insurance companies use a standard form to change a beneficiary or transfer ownership of a policy.

Please contact your agent or broker to obtain the proper form.

With a gift of life insurance you can:

  • Create a permanent endowment
  • Honor a faculty member with a memorial gift

A person who receives payments is called an “annuitant” or “beneficiary.” The payments are generally fixed and unchanged for the term of the contract. A portion of the payments are considered to be a partial tax-free return of the donor’s gift, which are spread in equal payments over the life expectancy of the annuitant(s).

Please contact us if this sounds of interest to you.  We look forward to assisting you with learning more about charitable gift annuities and how they are a terrific tool for supporting education and providing income to you.
