Sixth Grade

Sixth Grade art curriculum is founded on a Discipline Based Art Education with attention to skill-based learning, which includes art production, art history, art criticism, and aesthetics. Through project-based learning, students are introduced to various media and techniques and develop a basic proficiency in art concepts and skills. Within the year students are given the opportunity to explore the Visual Arts, Choral, and Performing Arts.

Seventh/Eighth Grades

Seventh and Eighth Grade students are introduced to various media and techniques and develop a basic proficiency in art concepts and skills.  An emphasis is placed on skill and project-based learning. Students choose semester long classes in the following arts. Visual Art, Woodworking, Digital Art, Choral, and Theater. Students develop greater depth and awareness of the different media, technique, vocabulary and historical perspective in each of these arts. Students are encouraged to take both performing and visual arts classes during these two years.
