The Pony Express café is located adjacent to the Learning Commons on the second floor of Henderson Hall, and is open to students, faculty, staff, parents, and campus guests. It offers a range of items for purchase including coffee and assorted drinks, as well as breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, croissants, yogurt, veggies & dip, and a daily sweet treat. Most menu items range from $2.00 – $5.00; see sample menu this page.

Students and faculty/staff interested in purchasing items from The Pony Express have to have a prepaid account through MySchoolAccount (see below). This prepaid account is linked to their Dawson ID card. Parents and guests only may use Visa, Mastercard, debit card, or Apple Pay (there are no cash transactions).

NEW MySchoolAccount SERVICE FOR CAFÉ PURCHASES
 
Dawson’s new online MySchoolAccount service is a safe and secure website. Prepaid accounts will be set up at MySchoolAccount.com and directly linked to a Dawson ID badge which must be used to make purchases at The Pony Express café. All students and faculty/staff must have a MySchoolAccount to purchase at the café. You can make deposits directly into these accounts, and receive an email reminder when an account balance is getting low. Parents will be able to monitor their child’s café purchases. Account deposits can be made through electronic funds transfer or by credit card. Each child’s account will be directly linked to their student ID number.
 
First, you will need to create a parent account:
  1. Go to www.myschoolaccount.com; click “Create Account” on the top menu bar.
  2. Fill in information on the “Parent Account Sign-up Page.”
  3. Create a User ID and Password.
  4. Choose Dawson from the “School District” drop down menu.
  5. Click “Accept,” and then click “Sign Up.” An email will be sent to your email address that will contain a verification code.
 
After you receive the verification code (see above), add your child’s information:
  1. Return to www.myschoolaccount.com; login using your previously created User ID/Password.
  2. Enter the verification code to verify your account.
  3. Add your child’s information (guidelines provided). You will need your student’s ID number to add a student. This number is found in the Dawson Portal on your child’s Contact Card.
  4. After a student is added you can view café account activity and make payments to the account.
  5. There is a $2.00 fee for each account payment by electronic funds transfer. If you have 2 or more students assigned to your account, you may make payments to each account and only be charged for one transaction. Example; 3 students, $10.00 payment to each, total charge $32.00.
  6. There is a $4.00 fee for each account payment by credit card. You can make a credit card payment of up to $200 at one time.
 
Note: A parent account can be linked to multiple children, but a child can only be linked to one parent.
 
You can make deposits into accounts on a regular basis, and you are free to choose the amount of each deposit.     Can my student pay with cash or credit card at The Pony Express?

    A:      No, only parents and adult guests – individuals without a Dawson ID badge - will be permitted to pay with a debit or credit card. There are no cash transactions at The Pony Express.

    A:      MySchoolAccount is a safe and secure website where you can view and manage account activity at any time. Through the MySchoolAccount.com website, you may deposit funds into your account using a credit card or electronic funds transfer. Anyone with a Dawson ID badge – students, faculty, and staff – must have a MySchoolAccount to purchase at The Pony Express.

    A:      You can add funds at any time and will be able to view purchases within 24 hours of a transaction. Parents with more than one student at Dawson can set up one family MySchoolAccount to manage both accounts through one login and password. When you make deposits, your credit card or checking account will be completed in one transaction.

    How do I set up MySchoolAccount?

    A:      You must complete an online registration process to have access to MySchoolAccount.

    I noticed that I’m being charged more than I want to deposit. Why is that?

    A:     MySchoolAccount.com charges a transaction fee when you make a deposit. The transaction fee for each electronic funds transfer is $2.00, and for each credit card deposit is $4.00. (For example, a $50.00 credit card deposit + fee = $54.00). If you are depositing to more than one student’s account at one time, you will only be charged one fee.

    What information will I need to complete the registration process?

    A:      You will need a working e-mail address and your student’s ID number, which can be found in the Dawson Portal on your child’s Contact Card.

    May I register MySchoolAccount any time I want?

    A:      Yes. Registration is “rolling,” and you may join at any time during the year.

    Why does MySchoolAccount charge transaction fees?

    A:      This is the cost of doing business electronically. The small fee, charged by MySchoolAccount, is used to cover bank transaction fees and the set-up and hosting of the website.

    Can I receive an email when my child’s account balance is low?

    A:     Yes. You can establish an account balance notification threshold for each child. Once the account balance falls below the established amount, MySchoolAccount.com will automatically send you an email notice.
  • Q. Can a student have more than one account?

    No, a student can have only one account tied to their Student ID number.

    Will we be sent a monthly statement?

    A:      The benefit to using MySchoolAccount is the ability to view your student’s account activity at any time – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any personal computer. MySchoolAccount does not send out billing statements to parents.

    My student’s balance is low: how can I add funds to his account?

    A:      Once you login to the MySchoolAccount.com website, you can deposit funds into your student’s account using a credit card or electronic funds transfer.

    What happens to funds in my student’s account at the end of the school year?

    A:      At the end of the school year, all remaining funds automatically rollover to the next school year. If, however, your student is graduating or changing schools and there is a balance, contact the Dawson Business Office for a refund.

    What is the maximum deposit amount per transaction?

    A:     The maximum deposit amount per credit card transaction if $200 (plus $4.00 transaction fee). There is no maximum for electronic funds transfers (plus $2.00 transaction fee).

    Will I need to register with MySchoolAccount every year that my student attends Dawson?

    A:      No, your registration with MySchoolAccount does not expire. Once you have completed the registration process, you will not need to do it again.
