New Orleans Winterim 3/23 and 3/24

We went down to the bayou to explore in an airboat. We saw a lot of alligators even a 10ft one off in the distance. It was great to see all the wildlife that live there. We also saw the impact of the recent hurricanes on the bayou and devastation it has caused to the land in the area. Living in Colorado, we always talk about droughts and lack of water. It was very interesting to see a place that has too much water and how they combat it. That afternoon we spent in the garden district shopping and exploring the gorgeous homes in the area. We loved the homes with large porches and bright colors most of all! That evening we took the trolley to a Jazz show at Snug Harbor on Frenchman St. It was a very different show than Preservation Hall but a lot of fun! Willy was able to go stage and perform with the band!

Our last day in New Orleans was spent at the National WW2 museum. It was crowded but great to see all the imperative exhibits. We then had one last lunch in the French Quarter before heading off to the airport. We all will miss the weather but excited to be back in our own beds.
