New Summer Camp Employees

1. Schedule an in person appointment with HR to provide your I9 documents.  This MUST be done PRIOR to the first day of camp. Note: If you are providing a copy of a current passport, you will also need to provide a copy of the bar code page.

2. Summer Camp Leads:  Complete the ‘BASE PACKAGE with DRUG SCREEN’ BIS Background Check.  You will receive a ePassport via email for your drug screen instructions

Summer Camp Counselors:  Complete the ‘BASE PACKAGE’ BIS Background Check
Under the age of 18:  Complete the BIS Parental Authorization.  Upon completion, please save, print, and sign your request form and email to hr@dawsonschool.org.

3. Complete the Facility Child Abuse and Neglect (Trails) Request.  Upon completion, please save, print, and sign your request form and email to hr@dawsonschool.org.  Dawson will then pay for all associated fees.  Please remember to include 10 years of residency history.

4. Complete the Out-of-State Background Check FormThis verifies what state you've lived in for the past 5 years. If you have lived outside of CO, it is required to run an out-of-state background check. If you have lived in CO for the past 5 years, you will indicate this on the form and submit it with your signature. Upon completion, please save, print, and sign your request form and email to hr@dawsonschool.org

5. Complete fingerprint check registration.  Dawson pays for the fingerprinting service by using the billing code in these instructions.

6. PAYROLL:  You can expect to see an email from TriNet with your temporary login information. Once you have received this email, your onboarding checklist MUST be completed within 3 days of your hire date.

  • Enter Emergency Contacts
  • Complete 2024-25 Dawson Employee Handbook Acknowledgement
  • Complete Child Care Facility Licensing Rules and Regulations
  • Compete 2025 Summer Camp Handbook Acknowledgement

7. Colorado Shines PDIS Training Modules. Click here to access the Colorado Shines PDIS training website. Create an account, complete the videos listed below, and submit the certificates of completion.

ALL STAFF (Leads and Counselors):
  • Recognition and Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect
  • Standard Precautions Including Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases and Immunizations
  • Emergency and Disaster Preparedness for Childcare Providers

LEAD STAFF (Not Counselors):
  • Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines
  • Provide a copy of your CPR Certification
 
COUNSELORS:
  • Introduction to First Aid and CPR
 
LIFEGUARDS:
  • Provide a copy of your current Lifeguard and CPR Certification
