Citizen You: Washington DC Winterim

On Wednesday, our group jumped on Amtrak to visit the birthplace of our nation: Philadelphia! First, we visited the National Constitution Center to learn about the document that defined our country and then toured Independence Hall, where the Declaration and Constitution were debated, written, and signed. Finally, we saw the Liberty Bell. After a delightful meal at Revolution House, where we were joined by one of our student’s grandparents as well as Mr. Gaffga’s brother, a teacher in Philadelphia, we narrowly made it back on Amtrak (brush fires in New Jersey delayed our train, but they allowed us to travel on a business class train instead… woohoo Amtrak!).
